Potter makes Scarles mistake in three changes – West Ham confirmed XI v Fulham. Graham Potter has made three changes to his West Ham side for the clash against Fulham on Tuesday with Oliver Scarles absent from the starting XI. The Hammers announced their line-up for the clash against the Cottagers at the London Stadium via their official X account (14 January).
This has seen Emerson, Guido Rodriguez and Carlos Soler come back into the starting 11 while Scarles, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug have dropped out of the side from the 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
The new Irons boss will be keen to secure his first win in charge in East London quickly but that may prove to be difficult without Scarles starting.
Graham Potter omits Oliver Scalres for West Ham v Fulham
The clash at Villa Park had many positive moments to reflect on but ultimately the result didn’t go how the away side wanted. Now they have a chance to right the wrongs of the defeat in the West Midlands by taking three points off a London rival.
Marco Silva’s side have had a very positive campaign in the Premier League with their wingers playing a key role at times.
The likes of Adama Traore, Harry Wilson, Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe have a positive amount of pace which could certainly cause problems for Emerson. As a result, it could have proved to be a better choice from Potter to leave Scarles in the starting XI after what was an excellent performance against Villa.

It will be interesting to see how the Italy international gets on at the London Stadium after blocking the youngster from making his third Premier League appearance of the campaign.
It definitely won’t be easy but supporters will certainly be keen to see the best of the 19-year-old as they did at Villa Park in the FA Cup.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made an approach for a Nottingham Forest star.
