West Ham fans will be gobsmacked by what Lucas Paqueta posted on Instagram after Manchester City defeat. Lucas Paqueta was up to his old self indulgent tricks after West Ham United lost to Manchester City on Saturday.
As West Ham were swept aside by the Premier League champions, Lucas Paqueta put in a completely ineffective performance at The Etihad.
Paqueta has been quite simply awful for the Hammers this season, and he put in a real shocker of a display before the Man City clash against Liverpool at the London Stadium.
It was recently claimed that West Ham have no intention of selling Paqueta in January, but I think the club owners should be doing everything in their power to move him on.
Julen Lopetegui is under real pressure now and interestingly, David Moyes was in the stands at The Etihad watching on. The Spaniard’s persistence in starting the hugely frustrating Paqueta could end up being his undoing.
He was so poor once again for the Hammers against Man City on Saturday.
And his actions online after the game certainly raised some eyebrows. West Ham fans will be shocked by Lucas Paqueta post
The South American put in a poor performance up at the Etihad.
He’s far too profligate in possession of the football in general and he was at it once again against Man City.
The problem with his overly casual attitude with the ball at his feet is that he commits big errors inside his own defensive third. It happened away at Tottenham earlier this season and at home against Arsenal.
I personally don’t think that Paqueta should be anywhere near the starting XI right now.
He clearly has a very different take on the situation though… Paqueta took to his official Instagram account after the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, and bizarrely shared his stats from Sofascore:
That is just a baffling thing to do after a 4-1 loss isn’t it? The bottom line for me is that Paqueta failed the eye test.
I am really not concerned by what statistics he racked up during a 4-1 defeat if I’m being brutally honest. The sooner that West Ham sell Lucas Paqueta the better it will be for us as a club moving forward in my opinion.
Sure, the Brazilian has been great for us on his day, but he has been absolutely awful this season.
In fact, Paqueta is more of a liability than a match-winner now it seems. His off-field problems certainly haven’t helped matters but that’s no excuse. Hopefully we manage to move him on in the January window, even if it is for a nominal fee.
