Latest Nation’s League Injuries- Was Jurgen Klopp right to describe Nation’s league as the most ridiculous idea of world football

Liverpool’s former Manager’s concern about Nations league has come to bear with the recent injury to a couple of important players in the gunners hunt for a premier league title

Jurgen Klopp during his time at Liverpool described the situation as the most ridiculous idea of world football, considering clubs have to shuffle about 60 to 70 games a season, this platinum of games have led to football players recording numerous injuries recently, the injury to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard who represents a central figure in the gunners line-up

The Nations League has been a topic of controversy since its creation in 2018, with former Liverpool boss Klopp not mincing his words when urging UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin back in 2022 to get rid of it from the football schedule.

When discussing Liverpool’s allocation of tickets for their 2022 Champions League final with Real Madrid, the German was painfully truthful about his thoughts on the tournament as he called it “one of the most ridiculous ideas in the world of football”.

He added: “Now we finish a season where players have played more than 70 games easily — 63 club games plus internationals. It’s really mad. Then we continue with the Nations League. There’s no tournament so who cares if we play four, five, six games with the international teams.

“I’d prefer that UEFA would take more money from the Champions League final and kick out the Nations League. That would be my preferred solution and more tickets for the people. That’s my personal opinion.”

The Gunners now face the prospect of being without some key players against Spurs, with Declan Rice already suspended for the game due to his sending off against Brighton. Riccardo Calafiori had to be subbed off during Italy’s Nations League clash against France on Friday night (September 6) while Gabriel Jesus continues to nurse a groin injury Reports the Mirror.
