Things are all going swimmingly so far on transfer deadline day for West Ham it seems, with Maxwel Cornet and James Ward-Prowse closing in on exits, and Carlos Soler apparently en route to East London to undergo his medical. Julen Lopetegui is actually on the verge of overseeing the best transfer window we have ever witnessed at the London Stadium.
However, a few deals still need to happen in order for that to become a reality. The West Ham manager is clearly still very active in the market on deadline day. It has been widely reported that the Hammers’ main focus is to shift on some fringe players before the window slams shut. And with that in mind, the latest update will be a real blow for West Ham United.

So it seems like the Hammers face a very big problem indeed this summer, after new information just came to light.
And this time, it involves a potential outgoing rather than an incoming. According to The Guardian, Hammers striker Danny Ings has absolutely no desire to leave West Ham before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

Whilst we still may sign Soler, Ings’ refusal to budge will undoubtedly prevent Lopetegui from bringing in another striker – something he definitely needs to do in my opinion.
If only the 32-year-old would show the ambition needed to go and play regular football somewhere else. And if he does stay at the London Stadium, it will really impact Lopetegui’s plans on deadline day unfortunately.
Danny Ings worst West Ham signing in recent history
The 32-year-old has proven to be a woeful signing by the Hammers. The fact that David Moyes agreed to pay £15 million to bring him to the London Stadium in January 2023 still baffles me.
Ings was never suited to the way that the Hammers play and his legs have clearly given up on him at the very highest level. He has scored just four goals for us since he swapped Villa Park for the London Stadium 19 months ago.
Getting him off the wage-bill should be one of the Hammers’ main priorities today. However, it seems like Danny Ings will not be leaving West Ham on transfer deadline day, and that could be really problematic for us.
