Fabrizio Romano has made a bold claim about a potential West Ham signing ahead of deadline day. Wuth the Summer transfer window almost reaching its climax, it’s set to be a busy day across the footballing world. From a West Ham perspective, it seems like anything could happen.
Given how much they’ve spent, it’s not a shock that they are desperate to offload some of their fringe players before the window closes on Friday night. However, there’s still the chance that they could bring in at least one more new recruit.
While many would expect this to be Carlos Soler considering how long talks have been going on between the Hammers and PSG, Italian journalist and friend of The West Ham Way Fabrizio Romano has made the cold claim that they could still sign another striker.
“If conditions are right and if they can get the outgoings done, I think it’s a possibility [to sign another forward],” he told GIVEMESPORT. “It’s really important for West Ham now to sell players because, obviously, they have had an exciting summer with many signings.”
“But it’s really, really important for them to sell players. That’s absolutely, absolutely crucial. So, there will be a conversation about that and about potential options.”
While he doesn’t elaborate on what these conditions are exactly, you’d assume that it would involve one of Danny Ings or Michail Antonio departing. Niclas Fullkrug is yet to make an impact for the Irons so Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui may want to bring in further reinforcements up top.
