Star tells Everton and West Ham his choice and ‘deal done by Monday’

Carlos Soler tells Everton and West Ham his choice and ‘deal done by Monday’. Carlos Soler has made his choice between Everton and West Ham and the ‘deal will be done by Monday’ after major developments overnight.

West Ham have been facing late competition from Premier League rivals Everton for Carlos Soler. The Hammers have been desperately trying to ship players out in order to get a deal done.

But Everton pounced on West Ham’s struggles to offload players by making their own move for midfield ace Soler. Sean Dyche sensed an opportunity and Everton have been looking to do a straight cash permanent deal for the Spain star.

Whereas the Hammers were only able to offer PSG a loan with obligation. Everton’s offer was said to appeal more to PSG for obvious reasons so the Toffees – as of yesterday – had moved ahead of West Ham in the race for the 27-year-old’s signature.

And there was a big development on Friday which suggested the Spaniard was close to sealing a move with West Ham or Everton jostling for his signature. Because it emerged that Soler was left out of PSG’s squad for their 6-0 win over Montpellier.

Soler left out of PSG squad after Everton launch late bid. Well it seems that was indeed very much a pre-cursor to his transfer.

Because Soler has told Everton and West Ham his choice and a ‘deal will be done by Monday’. Overnight Fabrizio Romano claimed Soler’s priority was to join the Hammers over Everton.

The transfer reporter stated West Ham technical director Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui were ‘pushing a lot’ to get the deal done. Romano said other clubs, namely Everton, were keen but that the Irons were leading the race.

Once again, though, Everton were given hope as it centred around the Hammers being able to offload players. 28 Carlos SOLER BARRAGAN (psg) during the French Cup Final match between Lyon and Paris at Stade Pierre-Mauroy on May 25, 2024 in Lille, France.

“Carlos Soler’s priority is West Ham as director Tim Steidten and manager Lopetegui are pushing a lot,” Romano said. “Negotiations already ongoing with PSG in order to get the deal done, but West Ham also need to complete outgoings.

“Despite other clubs keen, West Ham are leading the race.”

There has since been a major update from Spain, though. Diario AS claims West Ham have beaten off the late competition from Everton.

And now Soler is one step away from signing on loan with an obligatory purchase with the report claiming West Ham expect to close the deal ‘by Monday at the latest’. “The English club is finalising an agreement with PSG to close the signing,” Diario AS states.

“The Spaniard will be a ‘hammer’ through a transfer this year or through a loan with an obligatory purchase.

Soler chooses West Hama and ‘deal done by Monday’

“According to AS, the English club and PSG are currently finalising negotiations, which they hope to close by next Monday at the latest.

“The Spanish midfielder is a personal request from Lopetegui to the Hammers board, who are studying whether to close the operation with a transfer, the favourite option for a PSG that needs to balance accounts as soon as possible, or to do so through a loan that includes a loan with a mandatory purchase for 20 million euros (£17m) next season.”

    Why Soler is leaving PSG

Soler has been dipped in and out which has not helped. Especially given the relentless pressure to perform at a club like PSG, combined with the need to adapt to a new league and environment.

That does not make him a bad player, though.
