Major West Ham boost as Lopetegui can allegedly now sign ‘unplayable’ England int’l for just £21m

Tammy Abraham joining West Ham will surely now be only a matter of time after big new claim emerges. So it seems as though Tammy Abraham could well be West Ham United bound before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Tammy Abraham seems to be finished at Roma with West Ham looking to bring him back to London, and the transfer apparently could be ‘quick and painless’. A recent report suggested that the Hammers are closing in on a £25 million deal to sign him from the Serie A side.

Julen Lopetegui has already strengthened his centre-forward ranks at West Ham with the signing of Niclas Fullkrug. However, further centre-forward additions are still required, with Danny Ings and Michail Antonio both facing uncertain futures at the London Stadium.

Abraham would be a huge upgrade on both of those players mentioned above, and the thought of him playing alongside Fullkrug is an incredibly exciting one. Now the door seems to be wide open for Lopetegui to bring Tammy to West Ham…

Tammy Abraham joining West Ham surely only a matter of time

The former Chelsea man could well be set to swap the Italian capital for the east end of London this summer.

West Ham face big problem as Aston Villa reportedly move to sign brilliant 23-year-old for just £12m. West Ham face big problem as Aston Villa reportedly move to sign brilliant 23-year-old for just £12m. According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition August 17th, page 13), Roma are now demanding just £21 million for the 26-year-old – great value in this day and age.

AS Roma players Tammy Abraham and Marash Kumbulla during training session at Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini on August 15, 2024 in Rome, Italy. Described as ‘unplayable’ by The Birmingham Mail, Abraham can be a real handful when he’s at his best.

I think Abraham would be a great addition to Lopetegui’s ranks at the London Stadium. He possesses genuine quality, and he could make us a really dangerous attacking outfit.

Abraham is a top striker, and has bagged an impressive 130 goals in in 339 career appearances for club and country. He proved that he has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League during his time with Chelsea, and bagged 15 goals during the 2019/20 season.

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, the 26-year-old could be a real problem in this West Ham team for our opponents.

However, there would be risk involved in bringing the 11-capped England international to East London due to his recent injury problems. It still remains to be seen whether he has returned to anywhere near his best after suffering an ACL injury in 2023.

The English hitman has missed 301 days of football since that injury, so signing him obviously won’t come without any risk. In my opinion though, signing Tammy Abraham for just £21 million should be an absolute no-brainer for West Ham.
