Niclas Fullkrug makes admission that will stun the West Ham fans. West Ham United new-boy Niclas Fullkrug has just made a very surprising admission that will raise a few eyebrows.
There were plenty of West Ham fans who questioned the club’s move to sign Niclas Fullkrug, when our interest in him first came to light. I was one of those, but I’ve come round to the fact that the Germany international is actually perfect for Lopetegui’s system.
We were actually linked with signing him last summer, but he swapped Werder Bremen for Borussia Dortmund instead. And now Julen Lopetegui succeeded where David Moyes failed before him.
The 31-year-old has already put concerns about his age to bed with his recent comments suggesting that he is in the best shape of his life. I’m fully convinced that Fullkrug has a successful and prosperous career ahead of him at the London Stadium.

Niclas Fullkrug admission will stun the West Ham fans
The German isn’t the most fashionable or trendy of centre-forwards, but he does have everything needed to succeed in the Premier League. His lack of pace aside, the experienced hitman is the total package, and it goes without saying that he’s a huge upgrade on Michail Antonio.
Fullkrug opened up on his playing style, when speaking to WHUFC.com. And the striker made a truly astonishing admission.
The German said, “My work rate is very high on the pitch, and I always try to work off the pitch a lot. I have a very good feeling at the moment and feel very strong, very fit, and am in shape, and the West Ham fans can look forward to seeing me play in this shirt.“
“I am a strong player, and it’s very important for me. I am not only a strong player, but I also like to come into the number ten position and come towards the ball. I am capable with both feet and have good aerial ability as well.“

So one of the very best target man type strikers in world football has just admitted that he likes to play in the hole, just behind the main forward! That is quite the admission from Niclas Fullkrug, but I think it’s actually a real positive for West Ham for a very specific reason.
And that is that he’s obviously not a one-trick pony and has more than one string to his bow. That versatility will stand Fullkrug in good stead ahead of his debut campaign in the Premier League with the Hammers.
Let’s hope that the goals and assists flow immediately for the former Dortmund man – I think he’ll be a huge hit with us.
