The West Ham chief is desperately trying to bolster his forward ranks, as he looks to guide us back inside the top six.
Lopetegui has already brought in Luis Guilherme for £25 million this summer, but he’s far from finished it seems.
The Hammers are definitely going places under the Spaniard, but he undoubtedly needs to sign three or four more top-class players, if he is to guide us back inside the European spots this season.
So where will the West Ham head coach look next? There are numerous attackers being linked with a move to the London Stadium, but one name keeps cropping up time and time again.
West Ham now prepared to meet Matias Soule asking price
So the Hammers are well in the race to sign Juventus star Matias Soule it seems.
According to a report from Calciomercato, West Ham are willing to meet Juve’s £30 million asking price for the 21-year-old winger.
However, Soule has made it clear that he wants to join a ‘bigger club than the Hammers’.
It was actually claimed just two days ago that the West Ham had exited the race to sign the 21-year-old Argentinian ace, because Lopetegui wants Crysencio Summerville instead.
I still believe that the Leeds star is our main target, and West Ham may well be using Matias Soule to flush out the Whites in our pursuit of the 22-year-old Dutch winger.
That said, if the Hammers do sign the Juventus star, I’ll be more than happy – he’s an exceptionally gifted footballer after all.
Soule has the kind of talent that would undoubtedly take West Ham to another level, but the only problem I see is that he’s a left-footed right winger.
We’re in desperate need of the complete opposite of that, so I’m hoping that we sign Summerville instead this summer.
