After West Ham exit two months ago, David Moyes favourite opens up on talks to join Liverpool. West Ham United parted ways with David Moyes back in May along with one of his long-term favourites, and now he could join Liverpool.
Julen Lopetegui is now at the helm at the London Stadium, and the West Ham fans are buzzing about what the future has in store.
It’s been all change over at Anfield as well this summer, with Arne Slot coming in to replace the recently departed Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp. Coincidentally, the 45-year-old Dutchman was someone who was heavily touted as Moyes’s potential replacement at West Ham, before he took the Reds job.
Slot is highly regarded in the game, and is widely considered to be one of the most exciting managers on the continent right now.
Whether he’s able to adequately replace Klopp or not remains to be seen, and only time will tell regarding that question.
The former Feyenoord boss apparently has a plan in mind to help him achieve his goals at Anfield, and it involves someone who the Hammers fans will know very well indeed.
Johnny Heitinga opens up on Liverpool talks
Former Everton midfielder Johnny Heitinga could be set for a Premier League stay this summer it seems.
Heitinga spoke to De Telegraaf about holding talks with the Merseyside giants. The Dutchman said, “The only thing I can say now is that I have been approached (by Liverpool) and that my agent Rob Jansen and I are in talks.“
It came completely out of the blue back in September when when Heitinga, 40, was announced as one of David Moyes’s assistants at the London Stadium.
He was very highly rated in Holland as a potentially really bright up and coming young manager, so his addition to the Hammers coaching staff was viewed as a really exciting one at the time.
However, Heitinga didn’t really offer much or more specifically, he perhaps wasn’t allowed to implement his ideas with Moyes at the helm.
Whether Johnny Heitinga will be allowed more of a voice under Arne Slot at Liverpool remains to be seen. If he does get the coaching gig under Slot at Anfield, his links with Everton will undoubtedly raise some eyebrows.
