West Ham have two transfer ‘fears’ emerging as they could face double blow – journalist

West Ham United could be dealt a double blow as two transfer ‘fears’ emerge, according to a journalist. Julen Lopetegui has taken the reigns at the London Stadium and is eager to make his own imprint on the squad.

The former Wolves man is expected to implement a possession-based brand of football, which completely goes away from what David Moyes deployed during his tenure.

That said, it seemed Lopetegui was closing in on his first two signings but now that has been thrown into doubt.

West Ham United fear missing out on Luis Guilherme and Fabricio Bruno. According to Jack Rosser, West Ham United fear missing out on Luis Guilherme and Fabricio Bruno this summer.

The pair seemed to be edging closer to signing with The Hammers but that seems unlikely amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

They have received big contracts from the Middle East and it is understood that there is an ‘expectation’ that they will sign them.

West Ham United should shop elsewhere

West Ham can’t afford to dwell and ponder on the failed deals with the pre-season camp now fast approaching. Technical director Tim Steidten should shop elsewhere and consider the Championship market, where there is an array of talent.

Jonathan Rowe and Crysencio Summerville would be ideal alternatives for Guilherme whilst Jacob Greaves fits a similar profile to Bruno.

Further, the aforementioned trio are still young and have plenty of room to develop, so they’d be long-term investments.

A telling few weeks awaits Steidten.
