“I hope for his happiness” – Player says teammate will fulfil ‘dream’ by joining West Ham. As Fabricio Bruno waits to leave Flamengo for West Ham United this summer, the defender did not take part in last night’s match against Millionarios in the Copa Libertadores.
The centre-back stayed on the bench, and even though he did not speak to the press, many of his teammates did, and were asked about the transfer.
One of them is Léo Ortiz, who’s quoted by Globo Esporte. Quizzed about seeing his defensive partner leaving for West Ham, he said that move is Fabricio Bruno’s dream.
“I hope for him, that it’s for his own good. It’s a dream for him too, he’s already made that clear, he’s already expressed it. So we know that sometimes dreams don’t knock twice. I hope for his happiness. If it’s best for him, let him go. We’ll always be rooting for him if that happens.”
Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender David Luiz also spoke about the transfer, and claimed that Fabricio Bruno is ready for the challenge. The quotes come from Mundo RN.

The latest reports from Brazil have been saying that Flamengo and West Ham United have exchanged documents for the defender’s transfer.
The Hammers are expected to pay €13.5m for the signing, with a potential €1.5m in bonuses, depending on the number of appearances he makes for the club. It now remains to be seen whether the player will have a farewell match at the Brazilian club.
