West Ham tribunal ‘Likely’ with player set to leave – report

West Ham are “likely” to go to a tribunal over Divin Mubama, who is set to depart the London Stadium as a free transfer this summer, according to Sean Whetstone.

The journalist reported via his West Ham Football X account on Monday (27 May) that, with Sunderland interested in the youngster’s signature, the Hammers could be compensated.

It is understood that Mubama was offered a new contract with the Irons but rejected an extension, which means West Ham will be due a compensation fee from the next club Mubama joins due to him being under 24 years of age.

The 19-year-old will be able to join a new club from 1 July as a free agent, with Sunderland and Sheffield United said to be interested in his signature.

Which club will Divin Mubama join from West Ham United this summer?

Despite being an extremely exciting talent at the London Stadium, it is understandable as to why Mubama is keen to reject a new contract and explore new options this summer.

The Hammers struggled in the attacking third of the pitch in recent months, also having multiple injury blows throughout the campaign, yet Mubama was unable to make much of an impact.

The striker failed to make a single Premier League start under David Moyes, coming on as a substitute on five occasions and amassing a total of 76 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League.

His only start of the season came in the Europa League and was generally ignored on the bench for most of the season, with a loan move mooted towards the end of the campaign.

West Ham are likely to go to tribunal to set a compensation fee for Divin Mubama who is set to leave this summer. He will able to join a club from 1 July as a free agent with Sunderland being one of the English clubs chasing his signature

However, having decided against signing a new deal with the Irons, Mubama is set to leave the London Stadium permanently, which will see another club gain a special young talent this summer.

It is la sad ending for such an exciting homegrown talent, but at least West Ham will earn some profit due to developing the player through the club’s academy.

In other West Ham news, the club are closing in on a deal for a £17m-rated player.
