Ange Postecoglou gives blunt five-word response to Rodrigo Bentancur kicking the Tottenham bench last night

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has delivered his verdict on Rodrigo Bentancur’s behaviour after he was substituted.

The Australian was not a happy man on Tuesday night.

Tottenham suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at home in a game that ended their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Bentancur was really frustrated after what happened in the second half.

Ange Postecoglou reacts to Rodrigo Bentancur kicking the Tottenham bench

Rodrigo Bentancur started the game for Tottenham on Tuesday night, and he almost made an immediate impact.

The Uruguay international found himself at the edge of the box early in the game and unleashed a fierce strike with his left foot.

Sadly for him, Ederson pulled off a brilliant save.

Bentancur then got booked for a reckless challenge and had to be careful. In the buildup to Erling Haaland’s first goal, the midfielder allowed Phil Foden to cross the ball without putting up much fight.

That cost Tottenham the game, and we’re sure he was very disappointed with his actions.

Then, in the 55th minute, Ange Postecoglou decided to bring him off and replaced him with Dejan Kulusevski.

Bentancur was absolutely furious as he came off. He kicked the Tottenham bench in frustration before throwing his shin pad to the ground.

Postecoglou, who was annoyed with the result, was asked about Bentancur’s behaviour after he was brought off in the second half.

The Australian gave a blunt five-word response. He said, as per Football London: “I didn’t notice. Don’t care.”

Ange Postecoglou would’ve identified two key problems with his Tottenham squad

Ange Postecoglou is definitely going to make changes to his side this summer.

Tottenham are a decent team, but they are still a long way off competing for the Premier League title. They aren’t even ready to make it into the Champions League.

Tuesday night’s game against Manchester City showed that Tottenham need serious reinforcements in midfield and attack.

Rodrigo Bentancur is a good player, but if Spurs want to go to the next level, they will need to sign an upgrade over the Uruguayan as well as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Tottenham‘s attack needs some help too. They have quality names, but they need players who will step up and deliver in the final third in big games.

The defeat against Manchester City showed that they don’t have such players in their squad right now.
