N’Golo Kantè and Riyad Mahrez are both down in Saudi at the moment, as we all know making the most of their life in football from their time at Leicester and after, as the two should be the examples of players that Leicester need to look for and not go for the obvious signing.
The signing of N’Golo Kantè was one that changed everything at Leicester and it was far from expected, a player signed from Caen in French Ligue 1 and from there looked fantastic.
To get a good and balanced squad together for next season, you need to look at firstly what you have, and what you can bring in from the academy ranks, and from there look at the players to move out as well as those to bring in, with of course N’Golo Kantè in mind.
Often you see fans of this football club bottling our own players hard as they believe they are not good enough and everyone who has not played for this football club, being fantastic. Be careful and look at everything with an objective eye and don’t write off our own men, never.
Bouba Soumare and Victor Kristiansen are two players that has grown this season out on loan, playing for Sevilla and Bologna. They have both been playing steady in La Liga and Serie A. Both will return to Leicester and could be part of plans going forward.
The key point is to have players in the squad that are in balance with their own goals and feeling this is the correct place to be, if not, you need to be sure not to have a ground full of players not really feeling they are part of the project and are focusing on other ideas.
A good balanced squad do need a certain competition, but also a concrete set up that mirrors the objectives of everything put in play. Leicester need to build on the goods from this season, but must not forget that we need a few changes, hopefully getting in the legs that can move the project forward.
The summer before Leicester started their 5000/1 campaign, they made six new signings. Shinji Okazaki came in from Mainz, N’Golo Kantè joined from Caen. Christian Fuchs made his move from Schalke 04, Gokhan Inler joining from Napoli. Robert Huth was also brought in on a permanent deal from Stoke. The last recruit was Yohan Benalouane coming in from Atalanta. Kantè was the one move that turned out as ideal, with the rest having a purpose and of course possibly a dissapointing affair for Inler and Benalouane who never became influential. Demarai Gray joined from Birmingham alongside Daniel Amartey who came from FC Copenhagen to give the squad a younger look.
Abdul Fatawu will certainly be joining, as the clause of signing him is triggered with a promotion in place. We certainly hope Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is not forced out of the club, with players such as Tom Cannon, Patson Daka, Harry Souttar, Daniel Iversen, Hamza Choudhury and James Justin possible selling objects to gain some money. This is so difficult as it would be a shame if KDH is forced to leave.

Defenders: Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Coady, Nelson, Brunt, Kristiansen
Midfield: Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall, Winks, Alves, Soumare
Forwards: Vardy, Mavididi, McAteer, Fatawu, Marcal
This would give the squad a chance to be filled with a number of new faces if you are able to get some of the fringe players out, looking at Enzoball continuing in the same fashion.
