West Ham now ‘turning the needle’ to appoint Ruben Amorim alternative who’s won 9 trophies

West Ham now ‘turning the needle’ to appoint Ruben Amorim alternative who’s won 9 trophies. So, it seems like the Ruben Amorim to West Ham United dream is over for now, but an absoltuely brilliant alternative is apparently being lined up.

Ruben Amorim was firmly on West Ham United’s radar last week, when a shock report emerged claiming that we had opened talks with the 39-year-old Sporting CP boss.

The Hammers fanbase were beyond excited after hearing the rumours linking us with Amorim as a replacement for David Moyes.

However, that excitement quickly turned to dismay when it was claimed that the Sporting boss would not be moving to the London Stadium, and then Chelsea eyed up a move for the talented young coach.

Amorim was then forced to apologise to the Sporting fans for flying over to London to hold talks with West Ham midway through the season.

The Portuguese moving to the London Stadium before the start of next season is now looking highly unlikely. And as a result, the West Ham owners are said to be eyeing up an alternative to the 39-year-old Sporting tactician.

According to a report from O Jogo, after West Ham’s failed attempt to lure Amorim to the London Stadium, we’ve now turned our attention to Paulo Fonseca.

It is suggested that the Hammers owners are ‘turning the needle’ in their pursuit of the 51-year-old.

I would absolutely love Fonseca to replace Moyes at the London Stadium – he’s just who we need to guide us on to the next stage of our development.

A recent report claimed that West Ham are serious contenders for Fonseca’s signature, and now it seems like we’re ramping up our interest in the Portuguese.

He is a three-time league champion from his time in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk, and has won nine trophies in total throughout his managerial career, so he would certainly bring a winning mentality with him to the London Stadium.

The Lille manager implements an extremely exciting brand of football, and takes his responsibility of bringing through talented young players from the academy very seriously indeed.

Let’s hope that West Ham appoint a worthy Amorim alternative to replace Moyes this summer. Fonseca would certainly fit into that category.
