Former Premier League legend William Gallas believes Tottenham could excel under Ange Postecoglou next season. While the focus is on the North London Derby that will be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday for obvious reasons, former Tottenham and Arsenal defender Gallas has some exciting predictions for the home team heading into next season.
The Derby is of utmost importance to both teams, the Gunners are pushing for all three points in hopes of keeping the title race alive while Spurs need the three points to keep themselves in the hunt for a top-four finish.
Tottenham have had a decent first season under Postecoglou. They are currently fighting for a spot in the Champions League and Gallas believes things could get much better for them next season. The former French international feels they could compete for ‘everything’ with the right decisions in the transfer market.
Gallas said via Football.London: “I think everything is possible at Tottenham next season,”
“But if you want to have a team that is capable of fighting for the Premier League title, then you need to look at the depth of your squad.
“Tottenham will need to bring in more players if they want to challenge for the title. They will need reinforcements. If you look at the teams fighting for the title this season, their squads are stronger than Tottenham’s.”
“I think the fans can dream under the management of Postecoglou.”
The 46-year-old believes Tottenham could challenge for the Premier League title but in order to do so, they will need to add a lot of depth to their squad. They will have to make a few important signings during the summer transfer window.
He feels clubs that are currently pushing for the league title have a much stronger squad than that of Spurs. While he has urged the fans to dream under the leadership of Postecoglou, Spurs need to make the right moves in the market to compete with the elite.
