West Ham United fans’ David Moyes stance justified by Jurgen Klopp comments

Jurgen Klopp shared some sincere thoughts on David Moyes ahead of the West Ham versus Liverpool clash on Saturday (27 April).

In what will be the German’s last meeting against West Ham as Liverpool boss, Klopp said he considers Moyes one of his “best colleagues”

Beyond the understandable comments on the respect he has for the Scotsman, the Reds manager also suggested Moyes deserves more credit. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp shares David Moyes opinion

As per Liverpool’s official website [26 April], Klopp then went down the usual road when it comes to views on West Ham from outsiders.

“There are six teams in the league that have to be in this moment in time above West Ham,” Klopp said.

“That means seventh is pretty much the best you can achieve, and they did that and better now for a few years.”

The problem when it comes to West Ham and Moyes is that supporters do not want to be told what the glass ceiling is. Finishing sixth and seventh, before last season’s massive blip, is of course a very good achievement for everyone involved.

However, to be told that that is it as far as the club’s aspirations are concerned is just simply wrong.

Aston Villa are showing this season what is possible with the right group of players and a hugely talented manager in the dugout.

United now have a squad – or a group of about 13 – that is capable of doing what Villa are achieving, perhaps with the addition of one or two more.

st Ham capable of finishing higher than seventh

Klopp suggesting seventh “is pretty much the best you can achieve” is just simply wrong. There is no stopping United pushing on further.i Wth Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen in the front line, United have one of the finest attacking tridents around.

Even if Paqueta departs, the £80million-plus cash boost that sale brings in can be put directly towards signing a prolific centre-forward. Lucas Paqueta could be on his way out of West Ham United in the summer transfer window. Many Hammers fans are being called out for wanting Moyes to go, with many suggesting it will all be downhill from here.

However, comments like these from Klopp, and many other before him, show why that argument is so incredibly frustrating.

If the club get the next appointment spot on, the Irons can show next season that the grass is occasionally greener on the other side. In other West Ham news, an update has been shared on Vincent Kompany amid talk over Moyes’ future.
