All set for West Ham – As Hammers look set for £12m windfall Hammers look set for £12m Benrahma windfall

According to website Football Insider, West Ham anticipates Said Benrahma sealing a permanent move to Ligue 1 side Lyon this summer.

The 28-year-old made a loan move to the French club in the January transfer window after losing favor with manager David Moyes. Benrahma had found himself increasingly sidelined following his penalty miss in the Conference League match in Prague. As a result, he was offloaded in the winter window alongside Pablo Fornals and Thilo Kehrer.

Benrahma seems settled since returning to France and has expressed how much he is enjoying his time with Lyon. Whilst he didn’t mention David Moyes, it was evident that he’s not felt fully supported by the Hammers gaffer.

His loan deal with the French giants includes an option for a permanent transfer, and sources indicate that The Irons are now expecting it to be activated. Benrahma has featured in six matches since joining Lyon, starting five games and scoring once. Following his winning goal for Lyon against Metz, the winger spoke highly of the warm reception he has received in France.

Lyon paid a £5 million loan fee to acquire Benrahma in January and will need to pay an additional £12 million to secure his permanent transfer.

Football Insider reports that Lyon are ‘very keen’ to secure the attacker on a full-time basis, which should benefit West Ham financially, especially with Financial Fair Play regulations being strictly enforced.
