West Ham are hoping to tie down two veteran players to contract extensions this summer, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
Despite much unrest amongst the fanbase at times this season, the club currently sit in a healthy Premier League position as we look to secure European football for a 4th successive season, whilst also so far competing in the Quarter Finals of the Europa League.
There is still very much to play for in this campaign, however the club are quite rightly making plans for this summer and next season, with various players seeing their contracts expire and could therefore depart.
As has been previously reported by our club insider ExWHUEmployee, talks with Ben Johnson have thus far failed to materialise a positive outcome, with the player at this stage looking likely to move to Crystal Palace.
The club though will continue talks with Johnson, in the hope an agreement can be reached, however as of now that appears unlikely.
West Ham though are also planning talks with both Lukasz Fabianski and Angelo Ogbonna, with both likely to be offered 1 year extensions to their existing deals.
“Fabianski has really impressed the club this season despite being in the number 2 goalkeeper role,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast.
“He’s been the model professional and it’s understood he loves being at West Ham, with his family very much settled.
“The same is said for Angelo Ogbonna, who the club will hope to secure for another year, although it’s likely to be on a lesser wage than his existing contract.”
