This weekend, Crystal Palace have a serious opportunity to rid themselves of any relegation threat with a win against Luton Town.
As Oliver Glasner now gears his Crystal Palace side up for his third game in the dugout, he will be hoping to make it two wins from three.
After an excellent first game against Burnley which saw a dominant 3-0 win, expectations have been grounded after the 3-1 loss to Spurs.
That being said, the expectations remain high enough that Glasner’s Eagles will be expected to beat Luton at Selhurst Park.
Now ahead of the game, as he does every week, Paul Merson has issued his set of predictions. Here’s what he’s said…
After the 3-0 thrashing two weeks ago, the Selhurst crowd will be expectant of a similar result, and while he isn’t predicting an easy afternoon, Merson has given Palace fans reason to be optimistic.
“Palace have a bit more guile about them, so I’m going to give them the edge in this one. This is a game they [Luton] shouldn’t lose, but unfortunately, I think they will.”

Merson then named his prediction as a scoreline of 2-1 to Palace, something we imagine Glasner would take in a heartbeat if offered now.
Beating Luton Town should all but secure Premier League survival
A win for Palace on Saturday afternoon would be a massive three points which could see them 11 points clear of Luton and surely too far to be caught.
On 31 points, Palace could be as high as 13th and closing the gap on the likes of Fulham and Chelsea just above them.
Therefore this game for the Eagles is a decider on how they’ll spend the final 10 games of the season, either in a battle for relegation survival or comfortably seeking to finish mid-table
With Merson often correct in his predictions, this is a game which should indeed see Palace claim the three points.
