‘Make the most of them’ – Pundit fires triple exit warning at West Ham fans before Freiburg

Frank McAvennie has urged West Ham supporters to make the most of watching Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta while they’re still here.

McAvennie also claimed that David Moyes’ counter-attacking style would suit the trio when playing in Europe, allowing them to get on the ball and break quickly.

This claim came amid his prediction for the Europa League clash against Freiburg, with their three star players likely to be key to any result in Germany.

The former Hammers man – speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone – predicted that Moyes’ side would secure a draw in Germany before taking the win at the London Stadium.

“I think so. Counter-attacking is fine, I don’t mind counter-attacking football, but not every week,” shared McAvennie.

In Europe, we’re good at that, we hit them on the break, give the ball to Paqueta and Kudus and they don’t lose it.

It’s been a while since we’ve had three players like Bowen, Kudus and Paqueta, so make the most of them while we’ve got them. I think we’ll get a draw over there and a win at home.”

Will West Ham hold on to their star players this summer?

West Ham’s progress in the Europa League and potential continuation of their continental success could prove to be a key factor in retaining their superstar players amid plenty of interest in them from elsewhere.

Paqueta has been the player looking most likely for a summer transfer exit, with Manchester City circling, and McAvennie recently suggested the Brazilian is worth over £100million, and would already be at City if not for his recent scandal.

Bowen, meanwhile, signed a new long-term deal at the London Stadium earlier this season in what was seen as a massive commitment to the club amid rumours that he could replace the exit-linked Mohammed Salah at Liverpool.

Kudus’ arrival in the summer was met with plenty of acclaim at the time, having been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, and it had since been suggested that the likes of Manchester United should have got a deal done. Since his move though, there has been no talk of a move away.

If West Ham can surpass Freiburg and progress in the Europa League, their chances of keeping these three may be boosted even further.
