48-year-old sacked by Premier League club this year tipped to replace Moyes at West Ham

Darren Bent has tipped one man to come in and take over from David Moyes at West Ham, if the Scot does get sacked.

David Moyes is under real pressure in his role as West Ham manager, and recent reports have claimed that he’s dangerously close to losing his job at the London Stadium.

However, it cannot be argued that the Scot has worked wonders since returning to take over as Hammers manager for the second time in December 2019. He guided West Ham to our first major trophy since 1980 last season, so he deserves some respect at the very least.

That said, things have clearly become a bit stale now, and it’s obvious to see that we need a younger, more progressive manager, if we are to make any kind of progress.

With that in mind, Darren Bent thinks he knows just the man for the job…

48-year-old sacked by Premier League club this year tipped to replace David Moyes at West Ham

Darren Bent has named Graham Potter as the perfect candidate to take over from the 60-year-old Scot at the London Stadium.

The former footballer turned pundit said Potter would be an ‘absolutely unbelievable fit’ for West Ham, when speaking on talkSPORT yesterday:

“It would be interesting to see what type of manager they do want because I think Potter would be a great fit. With the players they’ve got, he would be an absolutely unbelievable fit.”

The 48-year-old was actually linked with taking over from Moyes six months ago, but the Scot kept his job in the end.

Potter lost his job as Chelsea manager after his side lost 2-0 to Aston Villa in April of this year.

That shouldn’t put the West Ham fans off of the former Brighton boss though.

He worked miracles at Brighton and in fairness to him, he did a decent job at Chelsea until Todd Boehly started spending money like it was going out of fashion on players the manager hasn’t even asked for. Either way, he wasn’t given the time for his footballing philosophy to manifest into results on the pitch.

Potter’s style of football is uniquely brilliant and captivating to watch. It is a complicated system though, so we will have to give him time for his ideas to bed in, if he is indeed named as the new West Ham manager.

Hopefully David Moyes will be removed from his position as West Ham manager soon. It’s clear to see we’re going nowhere fast with him at the helm. And as far as I’m concerned, Potter would be a real upgrade on the 60-year-old.
